Sextus Pompey, 43-35 BC. As (Bronze, 31 mm, 23.80 g, 12 h), uncertain mint in Sicily, circa 42-38. MGN Laureate janiform head of Pompey 'the Great'. Rev. PIVS / IMP Prow of galley to right. Babelon (Pompeia) 20. Crawford 479/1. CRI 336. RBW 1675. Sydenham 1044. Woytek p. 558 and pl. 11, 281. A lovely example with an attractive dark olive-green patina and a fine double-portrait of Pompey. Somewhat smoothed and with light deposits, otherwise, good very fine.
